Mom (Lincoln's Grandma) told me to put this on YouTube, so here you go....
Lincoln turned two on Friday, and yesterday we had a birthday party for him. I think he got a little overwhelmed at all the people and attention, but everyone seemed to have a good time. I believe there were 9 little kids running around in total, and amazingly, we didn't have any spills or stains, and very few tears. Cupcakes turned out to be a lot easier to handle than regular cake. Anyway, we're very excited for Lincoln, but a bit sad that he's growing up so quickly:

The big present was a combined gift from Lincoln's parents and grandparents, an airplane teeter totter than can handle up to 7 kids at a time:

It took a good 2-3 hours to put together (thanks Chris F. and Kevin for your help), but it seemed to be a big hit with everyone. Unfortunately, it got cold really quickly, so people stayed inside for the most part.

We went on a little trip to Washington this last weekend, mostly to see our new nephew, Ethan, but also just because it's been so long since we've been with Naomi's family (besides Kate). We've been talking with them almost weekly on the web-cam, so Lincoln recognized them right away, and ran up and gave Grandma a big hug when we got to the airport, I think making her weekend. I'm not sure I've ever seen Lincoln so happy for such a long period of time. He was just so excited to have so much attention; he loved to act very silly, and keep tags on everyone. As soon as someone left the room, he would start yelling for them. Oh, and for the record, here's a translation of all the names Lincoln has for everyone (I'll try and spell like he pronounces them):
Oh, and he can say his own name, too, but it sounds like 'winkie' instead of Lincoln. It's very cute. Anyway, here are some good photos from the trip, with a link to them all:

Naomi already mentioned one of the exciting things that happened today. We're very excited for Emily, Steven, and new baby Ethan. Here's a picture, but I'm sure you'll soon see plenty more at Emily's blog.
The other piece of pretty big news is that I got a job. A real job, like a career type job. I'll be starting as soon as next week at Tektronix, as a Web Developer for the Marketing Department. Web Developer is a pretty broad title; basically, I'll be helping with any tech-related needs of the Marketing Department, including building/administrating websites, working with mass emailings, and who knows what else. I actually received two offers, and decided to turn down a really good opportunity working for Dairy.com. It was seriously one of the toughest decisions I made. But here's why I'm excited for my new job:
Okay, perhaps some of that was just to reassure myself I made the right decision, but we're very excited nevertheless. It's been a good day.
We are so excited Ethan is here! We can't wait to see pictures of him. A big 21 1/2 inches and 8 lbs 15 oz!
This happened while I was on the computer and Lincoln was in the other room with his Dad who was napping on the couch. My makeup was left out after getting ready for church this morning. I discovered him when he came in to ask me to open the mascara. It took me a second to realize what he had done. Then I couldn't stop laughing. He did such a nice job just putting it on his eye where it goes. There was hardly any mess anywhere else. I don't know if you can see it, but the eyelashes are completely covered in sticky eyeshadow.

Naomi's post was just one example of some really cute pictures we've gotten of Lincoln recently. Here they all are:
Today we decided it was too lonely with just Lincoln and myself to entertain each other while Chris was at school. So we found a little brother for him.

I must apologize for getting your hopes up, there is no sound clip. Today he surprised us with some new words so I thought I would type up a list of his latest, and hopefully you will be able to hear them soon.

He is also very good at doing the actions for the following songs and wordplays: The Wise Man and the Foolish Man, Popcorn Popping, Book of Mormon Stories, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, If You're Happy and You Know it, There Were 10 on the Bed, and 5 Little Monkeys.
He surprises us everyday with new words, actions, etc. that he has picked up. Just in the last week he seems to have decided it was time to grow up again. Was he ever really a baby? I don't think he was.
Well, last night we reached a new milestone with Lincoln. He started out the day with a runny nose, then later a cough. After going to bed for the night we were called to his room by his coughing and crying. Chris went in to comfort him while I started to make some juice, and a few moments later Chris called for me to bring him a towel. Apparently the coughing gave way to vomiting. On Chris. So I went in to help clean up the mess and settle the boy down. We cleaned it all up, put Lincoln back to bed after holding him and rocking him for a while. We gave him some tylenol since he seemed to have a fever. Then about a half hour to an hour later, he woke up and again threw up on his daddy. We cleaned him up again and tried to put him in the bathtub. It was the end of the throwing up, but the beginning of a rough night. He continued to wake up and need comforting until he settled down a little after 4:30 and slept until almost 11:00. Today he seems to be feeling better, still congested and he has goopy eyes, but he's happy. We did the best we could to clean up everything, but we still have a lot of sour smell in our house. We're just hoping tonight is a better night for our little guy.
