7 days overdue

Here's the latest update. On Thursday night I went to bed around 12:30 and fell right to sleep. Around 2:30 am (I guess Friday), I woke up feeling a really strong contraction. My lower back really ached and I wasn't sure if turning over would make it stop or not. Eventually I sat up and Chris (who had just gone to bed according to him) started timing contractions. They were coming every 5 minutes and continued to be accompanied by some good lower back pain so we eventually decided to head to the hospital just to be safe. We woke up my mom and packed a bag and were soon on our way. We arrived at the hospital around 3:30 and the nurse took us to a room to find out what was going on. She asked tons of questions and checked to see if I was dilated. Of course as usual I wasn't dilated at all. She hooked up a monitor to check the baby's heartbeat and another to track the contractions. Then she said she would check to see if I had progressed (dilated) in an hour. It was fun to see how high the numbers got with each contraction and to see it represented on a graph. The contractions continued to be pretty regular and strong for what I'm used to, but after an hour she checked me and nothing had progressed. We then waited another half hour or so for an ultrasound technician to come and check my amniotic fluid levels. Everything still looked good so we were free to leave. The nurse said that since there were contractions during that hour of monitoring the baby it had been a stress test as opposed to a non-stress test which we had undergone the previous Tuesday. This showed the baby was doing well even under the stress of contractions so that's a good thing. Before we left the nurse gave me a sleeping pill since I was still having strong enough contractions that they would be hard to sleep through. She said she didn't think we would make it to our Monday appointment with the doctor before coming back. We arrived back at home at 6:30 am to head back to bed. I don't remember much of what happened at that point because the sleeping pill kicked in big time and apparently I was acting very funny. Chris had to put me in bed and I woke up at 1:00 pm feeling very refreshed. That was the end of those contractions though, I still haven't really felt much going on since then. Yesteday I realized that it's ok for me to be induced, it is a very common thing, so I stopped being stressed about having to have the baby before my doctor's appointment on Monday. I'm just going to let things happen and not sit around and wait for it or feel pressured to get things started by doing all kinds of crazy things that people recommend.
