We're at the hospital!

Fortunately, the hospital has wireless access, so I can keep anyone who's interested up to date.

Well, this morning we had a doctor's appointment, and our impression was that he was going to do some gel thing, then we would be induced tomorrow (well, she would be induced).  So, we didn't think too much of it, but when Naomi got out of the appointment, she told me we should head straight to the hospital.  The gel thing, which turned out to be prostaglandin, is actually administered at the hospital, and it's basically the start of the induction process.  It's this gel they put on the cervix to ripen it and attempt to start better contractions.  Anyway, they put it on, she started having good pretty close contractions, so we decided to stay at the hospital.  Six hours later, they checked her cervix and she was dilated to a 1+!  This is the first time she's been dilated at all, so we were pretty excited.  The nurse called the doctor to see if she should get another dose of the prostaglandin, or if we should start on the pitocin (sp?), which really starts the contractions going.  The doctor decided to go for the second dose, so it seems we'll be waiting another 6 hours before anything major happens.  I'll see if I can't write another update then.  Unfortunately, I forgot to get the cord that connects the camera to the computer, so I won't be able to put up any pictures until I get it... not that there's much to see anyway, just a very pregnant lady and a couple of anxious spectators.

Oh, and Naomi's doing fine, she's just pretty uncomfortable.
