I'm not sure whether this will post under my name or not, but I'm giving it a try. Yesterday Chris and I worked on a pinecone wreath. It was inspired by Martha Stewart, but I made some modifications to her original idea. For one thing we used a grapevine wreath for the base rather than a wire wreath form. Then we took some wire and wrapped it around the pinecones (starting with the largest) and tied them onto the wreath. It was very prickly and messy. By the end we had formed an assembly line of sorts where Chris would put the wires on the pinecones and I would fit them onto the wreath. One tip we figured out was to slip the wire through a part of the wreath that was further away from where we wanted it. If we stuck the wire down into the wreath right where the pinecone was supposed to go it was often too loose. To finish it off I tried to make a silver bow with some big wire ribbon I picked up for another Christmas craft. Since I've never made a bow before I was very impressed with how it turned out.
